Our Client:

Then working with this poker powerhouse could be the role for you. They are currently looking for a Head of Payments Team Performance and Capacity to join their payments team in Dublin.

Overall Purpose of Role:

To provide technical vision, leadership, and evangelism, in ensuring the Payments Team can provide agility, business leadership, and competitive advantage for our client. To work with all teams to understand current and future technology systems, and implement the appropriate technologies, frameworks, metrics, monitoring, and tools to enable the Payments Team to deliver an agile, reliable, available, and scalable technology platform

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

• Be responsible for ensuring Payments applications meet all performance non-functional requirements
• Work with other team members to define the key business processes, and identify an agreed set of target response times for each process
• Work with other team members to understand business volumetrics for each task (e.g. # users, peak # tasks/ transactions per second, batch profile/ volumetrics, batch window constraints, workload concurrency etc)
• Work with the Designers/ Development leads to establish and communicate performance related design/ development/ and coding principles and best practice
• Lead Design for Performance Activities within the Payments Team
• Establish processes with the project teams to review the key I/T processes from a performance perspective at key project milestones (including any changes affecting those processes)
• Solution Outline at both the macro and micro design levels
• Estimate response times and component resource usage (i.e capacity planning for CPU, Memory, DASD & Network) for each of the key I/T processes
• Analyse the results of estimation exercises, and feedback to Development as appropriate - this will be an iterative process, in which the system configuration (H/W &/or S/W) and application is changed and the estimate rerun
• Work with performance testers to build the test strategy and support the definition of test cases in order to measure I/T process response times and component resource utilisation
• Analyse the results of test case execution, and feedback to Development as appropriate. Again this will be an iterative process, in which the system configuration (H/W &/or S/W) is changed and the test cases rerun
• Raise and manage performance issues with team members as appropriate
• Communicate performance status to stakeholders
• Applicants should ensure that their CVs clearly describe the nature and complexity of the technical solutions, and number and type of major components, they have worked on
• Candidates must have a background and practical experience in performance and capacity management, distributed design and implementation, and overall solution architecture
• A knowledge of enterprise wide systems architectures and platform integration technologies is essential
• Practical experience of planning, designing, and implementing applications and data architectures in a complex distributed n-tier environment is essential
